Merry Christmas from Cranberry Meadow Farm

We decided to celebrate our first Christmas at Cranberry Meadow Farm by getting away from it for a few days. Our daughter, Eleanor, asked to host the first family Christmas at her home in Philadelphia, where it is expected to be a balmy 45 degrees today compared to frigid New Hampshire!

There is only one guest room that has not been demolished at the farm, which we call The Garden Room and has a great view of the pool and the gardens – and the deer eating the gardens. Our daughter, Franny, is home from college until the end of January, so we are hoping she can sleep in there until then. The kitchen has also now been removed, and all cabinets and appliances have been bartered or will be repurposed. And most vintage sinks and claw foot tubs have been sold on eBay and delivered by me to someone who lives locally.

And finally, the first official room at the inn is now complete! Have a look at the outdoor hot tub, which now occupies the former garden shed and has a beautiful view down to the trout pond and meadow. The Bluetooth stereo and mood lighting make a perfect beginning or ending to another amazing day at Cranberry Meadow Farm. Merry Christmas to you and all of yours. —Charlie
